We are looking for a Marine Hull Design Engineer to work as an expert in our customer projects.

This position will be located in Comatec Industrial and Marine Oy. Comatec Industrial and Marine Oy is part of Comatec Group. Comatec Industrial and Marine Oy´s areas of expertise include marine industry components and systems, various vessels produced in the shipbuilding industry, machinery and equipment for the process industry, and automation systems for the manufacturing and marine industries and electrical equipment and systems.

In this role You will be involved in the design and production of the 3D model of the whole ship primary structure which includes the shell plate / stiffening, all steelwork decks, bulkheads, and compartmentation as well as seating and mounting arrangements, penetrations, component parts and production aids. You also make engineering drawings to comply with specification and classification rules. You will be responsible for communication with clients, subcontractors and material suppliers. You will have a key role in developing our business and designing its future solutions in close co-operation with colleagues, internal and external customers, and the whole value chain.

You have B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in mechanical or marine engineering, and you have experience in hull design. You have knowledge of marine engineering and manufacturing technologies and marine rules. Good knowledge of shipbuilding processes, shipyard production technology and classification rules are required in this role. You have experience in 3D detail design with AVEVA Hull and you can create production drawings according to specification and classification rules. Experience of performing design and strength analysis is an advantage. In this position proactive and initiative working attitude and good teamwork skills are needed. Good command of English language is required, both written and verbal. Finnish language skills are seen as a bonus. Ability to short-term travelling is required in this position. This position can be located in Turku or Vantaa depending on your own will.
